    What: 

    On January 10, Foreign Policy at Brookings will host Prime Minister Erna Solberg of Norway for an Alan and Jane Batkin International Leaders Forum. Solberg has served as prime minster since October 2013, winning a second term in 2017. She has a longstanding career in public service, representing the county of Hordaland in the Norwegian parliament since 1989 and leading the country’s Conservative Party since 2004.

    In a keynote address, “Sustainable security: The transatlantic community and global challenges,” Solberg will speak to changing global security environment and role of the Euro-Atlantic partners in meeting these rising challenges. Following the prime minister’s remarks, Bruce Jones, vice president and director for Foreign Policy at Brookings, will join Solberg on stage for a conversation on these themes. Questions from the audience will follow the discussion.
