Saudi-led airstrike kills group of mourners in Yemen: Warplanes of the Saudi-led coalition struck a house north of Yemen's capital on Wednesday where mourners had gathered to offer condolences after a woman died, residents said, killing nine women and one child and injuring dozens.

Syrian rebel group executes scores from rival factions: Syrian Islamist fighters have executed scores of insurgents in the west of the country in an increasingly bloody battle between different militant groups, the SITE Intelligence Group said. An offshoot of the Jund al-Aqsa group killed more than 150 members of rebel factions in the village of Khan Sheikhoun in southern Idlib province, the U.S.-based monitoring service reported on Wednesday.

  • U.N. pauses Mosul aid operations: Security concerns forced the United Nations to pause its aid operations this week in east Mosul, but they will resume soon, a U.N. humanitarian official said on Wednesday.

Syria

  • Turkish airstrikes target al-Bab: Turkish bombardment of an Islamic State-held town in Syria has killed 24 civilians, a monitor said Thursday, but Turkey's army said only "terrorists" died in the operation.
