Xi Jinping's recent moves limit room for differing policy views. Chinese politics take a new turn. On a recent episode of the NCUSCR podcast, Jeffrey Bader assesses the causes and effects of recent shifts in Chinese domestic politics and developments in U.S.-China relations.

U.S.-China tensions are poised to increase. “I expect U.S.-China relations to grow more competitive in the coming months,” Ryan Hass tells Bloomberg. “There will be fewer areas of cooperation to counterbalance areas of friction.”

Where are U.S. relations with North Korea headed? In two recent interviews (in Chinese) with Phoenix TV, Cheng Li discusses the North Korean nuclear problem and the possible Trump-Kim summit.
