How advanced technologies are reshaping manufacturing

Thirteenth annual John Hazen White Forum on Public Policy

Monday, July 15, 2024, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EDT
The Brookings Institution, Falk Auditorium, 1775 Massachusetts Ave. NW. Washington, D.C.

Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and data analytics are changing manufacturing. These tools are improving office productivity, inventory, supply chain management, and plant operations. Through the virtues of cost management, productivity enhancements, and logistical advances, these technologies are helping managers and workers increase performance and deal with complicated logistics outside the organization.

On July 15, as part of the thirteenth annual John Hazen White Forum on Public Policy, Governance Studies at Brookings will host a panel discussion about the organizational, policy, and geopolitical aspects of manufacturing and ways to integrate technology into operations and management.

Registration is required to attend an event in person and guests at Brookings are required to attest to their state of health before attending. Visitors may not enter the building if they are feeling ill for any reason, have any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19 at any time in the preceding 5 days or longer in accordance with current CDC guidance, or have been advised by their healthcare professional or otherwise to not enter any space where some persons may not be vaccinated.
