Perspectives from Africa program directors of DC-based think tanks
Tuesday, March 19, 2024, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. EST
The Brookings Institution, Falk Auditorium, 1775 Massachusetts Ave. NW. Washington, D.C.
In recent years, several think tanks in Washington D.C. have established an Africa program. These programs cover diverse issue areas, ranging from development financing, regional integration, and trade to governance, energy, climate change, and peace and security. The directors of these programs play key roles in informing U.S.-Africa policy, testifying in Congress as well as building relationships with leaders on the continent.
On March 19, the Africa Growth Initiative at Brookings invites you to a conversation on strengthening the U.S.-Africa partnership during a time of heightened geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions. This event will convene a panel of think tank Africa program directors to discuss their respective priorities in the year ahead and measures to strengthen U.S.-Africa trade, commercial, and economic relations.
Registration is required to attend an event in person and guests at Brookings are required to attest to their state of health before attending. Visitors may not enter the building if they are feeling ill for any reason, have any symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19 at any time in the preceding 5 days or longer in accordance with current CDC guidance, or have been advised by their healthcare professional or otherwise to not enter any space where some persons may not be vaccinated.
