How can the Biden administration improve the Medicaid program?
A virtual event from the USC-Brookings Schaeffer Initiative for Health Policy

    When: Wednesday, February 3, 2021, 2:00 - 3:15 p.m. EST

    Online only: https://www.brookings.edu/events/how-can-the-new-administration-improve-the-medicaid-program/

What: The Medicaid program provides health coverage to 70 million Americans. The program, which is a partnership between the federal government and the states, plays a critical role in ensuring that people with low incomes and people with disabilities can get the health care they need and are financially protected when they get sick.

On February 3, the USC-Brookings Schaeffer Initiative for Health Policy will host a webinar discussing ways the federal government can work with states to improve the Medicaid program. The discussion will examine options to improve Medicaid eligibility rules, enrollment processes, and benefit designs, as well as approaches that could improve the quality and efficiency of the care delivered to Medicaid beneficiaries. Panelists will discuss ways the federal government could work with states to improve the program without new legislation, as well as possible legislative opportunities.

Viewers can submit question for panelists by emailing events@brookings.edu or via Twitter with #ImprovingMedicaid.
