Over the past three years, we have witnessed an unprecedented shift towards remote and hybrid work for a large variety of professions. Several factors have significantly accelerated this transition, including the COVID-19 pandemic and emerging new technologies that facilitate virtual collaboration. Many companies have settled on a hybrid work schedule, while some have shifted to a completely remote work model. Others are trying to go back to pre-pandemic levels of in-person attendance. There is no doubt these fundamental changes in work mode will be an important force shaping the future of work.
On March 2, the Center on Regulation and Markets at Brookings will host a fireside chat with Professor Nick Bloom from Stanford University, a world-renowned expert on remote and hybrid work. We will explore important topics related to the future of remote work and how it will affect employees and companies going forward.
