In the past few cycles, South Carolina has emerged as a critical stop on the way to each party’s presidential nomination. As the first Southern state in the primary, it represents an opportunity for Republican candidates to demonstrate their support in the region.
On February 26, join Governance Studies at Brookings for a virtual event moderated by Senior Fellow William Galston with an expert panel to discuss the results and implications of the South Carolina Republican primary. Panelists will also examine the state’s role in shaping the subsequent nomination race.
