The future of carbon credit markets

 

While carbon credit markets could play a significant role in achieving global climate and energy transition goals, persistent challenges with quality, transparency, and market design have limited their impact. A new initiative from the Brookings Center on Regulation and Markets examines how project-based carbon credit markets can be improved through regulatory and market reforms, featuring research from Derik Broekhoff, Aidan Conley, and Sanjay Patnaik on the current landscape in the U.S. and abroad.
