China's slowing economy: What China is doing about it, and what it means for the rest of the world. On Tuesday, November 26, the Brookings China Center and the Hutchins Center on Fiscal & Monetary Policy will convene a virtual panel to discuss the current state of the Chinese economy, China's policy response, and the implications for the rest of the world. Jake Sullivan on the U.S. international economic agenda. On October 23, the Brookings Economic Studies program hosted White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan for an update to his April 2023 speech on American industrial innovation strategy and the U.S.'s competition with China. He reflected on progress and challenges over the past 18 months and defended the Biden administration's policies.
